Billy Ponds Biography

Billy L. Ponds is the founding partner of The Ponds Law Firm.  For over 25 years, he has represented clients in criminal and civil litigation, with an emphasis on white collar crime.  A seasoned litigator, he began practicing law in Washington, D.C. in 1984, and is a member of the District of Columbia bar.

In 1988, Mr. Ponds joined the law firm of Ponds, Wilkes, Ponds, & Miller as a partner.  In 1994, Mr. Ponds founded the Ponds Law Firm, where he is currently the managing partner.  During the course of his distinguished career, Mr. Ponds has conducted over one hundred jury trials, and represented clients in high profile criminal and civil cases including:

In addition to his extensive litigation experience, from 1996 to 2004, Mr. Ponds was an adjunct professor of law at the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., where he taught Trial Advocacy and Practice.  Mr. Ponds instructed students in trial procedure for both criminal and civil cases, blending rigorous mock trial experience with class discussion of trial techniques, strategy, and ethics.
